Yeleni has received wonderful support from a whole host of volunteers right from when we started back in 2010.
As with any charity there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes in order to keep it running smoothly.
As a self funded organisation with no statutory funding we are constantly looking for ways to keep our costs down whilst still being able to offer a caring free service to our cancer patients.
One of the ways that we have been able to achieve this is through the wonderful work that our volunteers do for us.
We were thrilled to be awarded The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2016.
We were presented with our award by Lady Darnley Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant at a wonderful ceremony at the town hall.
With over 80 guests.
Everyone who works here agrees to do some voluntary work throughout the year.
This includes volunteering as therapists offering free therapies at annual Health and Wellbeing events run by Macmillan, The Disability Roadshow and the Nozstock festival.
We are always looking for volunteers to help us with either running the Centre, fund raising or supporting cancer patients with activities or groups.
If you think you could help us in some way then please contact us on 01432 342 342
We offer all our volunteers in house training in working with people, fire safety, health and safety, events and we have public liability insurance.
