Who we are

We are a local breast cancer support group, set up to create a friendly, relaxed meeting place where we can enjoy getting to know each other via a wide variety of social activities and experiences as well as learning from NHS speakers, whilst also having a chat over a cuppa and cake.

We aim to be as inclusive as possible by hosting hybrid meetings, where you can either come in person, or you can join in online.

Wherever possible we will broadcast each meeting via zoom, whereby people viewing at home can interact fully with the people in the room. This ensures that we can support you whether or not you can be there in person.

Ask the Breast Cancer Nurse

Di Emmett has been a qualified nurse for over 25 years. Her career
has been varied, but predominantly in Palliative Care & Oncology. She
has been employed at Wye Valley NHS Trust for the past 15 years as a Specialist Breast Care Nurse.

During her career caring for those diagnosed with breast cancer she
has acquired expert knowledge of the impact the diagnosis and
subsequent treatment has upon patients, but also the ongoing fears
and worries they may have moving forward when all hospital treatment has finished.

Di will assist in establishing Yeleni Breast Cancer Support Services,
providing monthly group support sessions at The Salvation Army
Community Hall and free private one to one sessions to explore personal concerns at the Yeleni Therapy & Support Centre in Blackfriars Street.

You can just turn up to the monthly meetings but the private sessions must be pre-booked by calling Yeleni on 01432 342 342.
